June Has Been in Heaven Since May 27, 2006

Mom,
His time was not our time, but we are thankful for the time we had!
Today we come to the place of internment to share our love for you, and remember the good and the difficult times we all shared. Smile down upon us, as we look up to you and smile knowing you are in a place of peace and we look forward to joining you, one day, in His time.

Your Son

COME WITH ME

The Lord saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come with me."

With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
A beautiful smile at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best.

It's lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day,
Our lives aren't the same
Since you went away.

When days are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper,
"Cheer up and carry on."

Each time we see your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping,
We'll meet again someday."

June Has Been in Heaven Since May 27, 2006

Happy Mother's Day 2007
I wish the statement above was accurate for us today. As this is our first without Mom. Last year we had only been home a few days after some 45 days in a hospital in Lexington, Kentucky battling cancer. I had no idea that we might not have another. However we are grateful for all of the Mothers that are here today and wish them the very best. My heart goes out to the ones who are also having their first Mother's Day without their mom's. I am fortunate that my Mom had sisters and I have become closer to them in the last year than ever in the past. They share traits, humor, features and love that allows me to see small things in them that keeps mom close to me. Tonight Judy and I went to the cemetery. I played the bagpipes to her and my grandmother who is nearby. Sure, I know she is not present at the grave, but I am sure she was looking down upon us and smiling. Soon we will gather to memorialize her on the anniversary of the day she left earth free of pain and suffering and began her journey in glorious heaven.
We miss you so much and I'm sure you know it.
Nothing quite like a mother's love...
John
