June Has Been in Heaven Since May 27, 2006

Hello Friends and Family,
I hope that all is well with you. We seem to be doing fairly well. As we approach Mom's favorite time of year, we find ourselves as emotional as we have been at anytime this year. Ernie is holding up pretty well, although as you can imagine he has struggled along the way. This season brings our emotions to the surface quite often. I'm sure each of you are also feeling the emotion of this time of the year. We thank you all for all the prayers and support you have shown us this year. It is our prayers that each of you will find comfort in knowing that our beloved June is resting this Christmas at the right hand of God.
I have posted a poem of what Mom is saying to us this Christmas. I must advise you to stop reading right now and find youself a tissue, you will need it.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!
Love, John
My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights like Heaven's stars reflecting the snow.
The sight is so spectacular- please wipe away the tear
For I'm spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sound of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here
I have no words to tell you the joys their voices bring
For it's beyond description to hear the angels sing
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones you know I hold you dear
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift for my heavenly home above,
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all love is a gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessing of love he has for each of you.
So have a merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

  • Thanks for sharing the poem and needless to say you did need a box of tissue. I know June is really celebrating Christmas this year w/o pain or cancer and she is with Mama, Daddy, Randall and Danny but sure wish she was still here with us but like she was before she became sick with cancer. She may be gone but certainly not forgotten. Love and miss her very much. Thank God we still have each other left and all the love between us. We are truly blessed to have a family like ours.

    Love Gwenda

if Jackie hasn't told you my daughter Lisa was opperated on Dec. 14TH to remove a Medulloblastoma Tumor, when we left the Emory Hospital she was having a MRI to make sure that it had not infiltrated her spine.
Please put her on as many prayer list as you possibly can, please include her daughters Kristin, Lorrin, Caitlin James and myself.
