June Has Been in Heaven Since May 27, 2006

After Surgery

Markey Cancer Center Lexington, KY

Last night June returned to her room about 7:00pm. She had gone to pre-op about 6:15am and surgery about 9:00. Needless to say she was exhausted and in quite a bit of pain. The doctors had retained her in the recovery room a bit longer than they initially thought would be required. She was pretty much out of it upon her return. Ernie and I stayed with her about an hour and felt certain she would be ok. She let us know she was alright and that it would be OK for us to go back to the house. June was in no condition to answer or speak on the phone. The next few days should show improvement in her overall health. The internist advised her to keep all of her weight off her legs. Although tonight there was little chance she would be up and about.

We thank all of you for your exhaustive praying today, it worked. We knew not what the outcome would be early in the day, but He worked it out. June will likely be in the hospital another few days until everything is stable and the doctors are comfortable with her condition. She will need to spend another week to ten days at St. Agnes House awaiting removal of the sutures. She will not be allowed to return to Newnan until the sutures are removed and she gets clearance to leave from the doctors.

  • Our thoughts are with you and the whole family, June. I love you so much. Thank you, cousin John for contacting me. You are not a distant cousin, you are a first cousin. I wish I could be there for all of you, but we will pray alot and know that others will also. May God be with you. Love from Jan and Lorin and Gene and Harriett.
