Final Countdown
Going Home
I spoke to Ernie this morning and he said he had a lot of news and he wanted June to tell me. Its official, June and Ernie are on the final countdown to departure from the hospital and Lexington, Kentucky. Let’s hear it loud and clear, hip hip hooray! I have heard it from the source and they have been given the all clear, barring no unforeseen circumstances. June and Ernie will be making travel arrangements to return home on Monday May 1st or Tuesday. Travel method and arrangements are in progress and a bit uncertain at this time. The good news is that it is just a few days away. We are seeking a buddy pass for June if anyone has one or knows where to get one. Angel Flight is a consideration, but we’re unsure how capable mom would be getting in and out of the plane and how comfortable the flight may be. The other option is just to get in the car and drive home. June did not favor that idea very much, as it would be at least a two day trip. Of course they would not be driving themselves, I would fly back and drive them home.
I spoke with mother tonight and she sounded much better than last night. We were laughing and talking about this unbelievable journey she’s been on. I guess we've all been on it together. What a ride! As the plans evolve I will let you know when and what to expect.
