June has waited to go into surgery since 9:00 this morning. At 5:45pm Ernie called and said mother was finally heading into surgery. Mother has been sedated all day and has not offered much conversation to Ernie. It’s hard to tell how long this surgery will last. They will be closing her up tonight. June has had her incision area packed this week to offer easy access for the irrigation procedure.

Ernie is planning to spend the night at the hospital. He has already made his bed at this writing. He said he will call when mom returns, just to give us an update.

I’ll let you know more when I hear more. Say a prayer if you will and let’s hope this is the beginning of the end of this trip to Lexington. Keep the faith.
